The Usha Martin Academy (UMA) is an initiative of the Usha Martin Group (UMG). As a 1 billion dollar conglomerate with a global presence, the UMG was established in Ranchi, Jharkhand in 1961 as a steel and wire rope manufacturing company. The management has constantly incorporated both innovative and groundbreaking business practices. The UMG has interests in industries that range from steel to wire ropes to telecom. Today, it is recognized as one of the most diversified conglomerates in the country. Its headquarters are in India with offices in the UK, USA and Africa.
The UMA draws on the teachings from various UMG companies to impart an industry-relevant education to students. This education enables students to gain industry-level knowledge from the experts.
Since its inception in 2007, the UMA has been guided by the principles of training the next generation of leaders in the field of management and education. This requires the creation of a new education system model that is devised to promote economic growth.
It is the commitment to these principles that has enabled the UMA to offer strong and innovative programs in the field of management and IT. Today, UMA teaches close to 5,000 students across its 11 campuses. This rapid growth in so short a span of time is a testament to the ideals of the UMA and the recognition of their importance in the marketplace.
